Mason has now transitioned to applying his expertise directly to assisting private enterprise for the benefit of New York based commercial and industrial businesses. Mason's leadership at Freeman & Davis LLP, as Director of its new consulting business, is creating a merger between the two services of accounting and specialty consulting services into what is best described as "benefits engineering". Mason has created, administered and marketed numerous economic development and business assistance programs for the City of New York during his tenure. He has personally assisted over 1300 individual business owners survive and remain within the 5 Boroughs. Mason is an experienced and enthusiastic public speaker. His professional and personal interests include environmental issues, strategic communications and government reform. Mason's work has included being the City's liaison on energy issues to the NYC2012 Olympic bid, representing his agency on Mayor Bloomberg's Sustainability Task Force and successfully launching an energy education training series for NYC school teachers. Originally from the South End of Boston, MA, where he graduated from Boston Latin School, Mason received a BS from the College of Business Administration at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. He dual-majored in Management and Marketing/Public Relations. Mason's commitment to his City has resulted in him serving as a Board Member and Assistant Chair of the Economic Development Committee on Manhattan's Community Board 12, as well as a Board Member for Credit Where Credit Is Due, a local financial literacy education organization. |
